Short Term Training Programs

The department also conducts various short term courses for the faculty. Programs extending upto a fortnight in duration are organized for the benefit of the teaching community. Sponsored by the Directorate of Technical Education and All India Council for Technical education, these courses are attended by faculty from the length and breadth of the country. In collaboration with the Continuing Education Cell of the college, the department faculty offer many a course related to the latest developments in Computing technology, useful mainly for the students and also for the faculty.

Computer Association

Computer Science and Engineering Association is actively engaged in conducting seminars and special lectures by experts. The students of the department actively participate in technical presentations and programmes conducted by reputed institutions. The department also has a software development cell. The cell delivers software support for various projects including online attendance and admission automation Software Engineering practices are followed and the students are encouraged to do their mini and main projects according to standard methodology.

Consultancy Services

The faculty members of the department also offer technical expertise to local bodies, state government institutions, Universities and Judicial institutions. Services offered include expert opinion on procurement of IT infrastructure, design of campus networks, automation of libraries, database design and tuning, inter connectivity solutions for branch offices to head offices, Core banking solution implementation and other IT related activities. Staff members in the department also involve in consultancy work for banking sector.

  • MoU between GECT and Sony Ericsson is signed .
  • MoU between GECT and Infosys is signed .
  • MoU between GECT and C-MET is signed on 12th Jan 2012.
  • MoU between GECT and KELTRON CONTROLS is signed on 19th Mar 2012.
  • MoU between GECT and TCS is signed on 3rd July 2012

Department Alumni

The departmental alumni association is actively engaged in fostering a good relationship between the past and present students. Through their efforts, the departmental facilities receive a much needed boost and the students get useful advice on their future career.


  • Workshop on Outcome based education : 01-10-2016
  •         A workshop on Outcome based Education was conducted on 1st October 2016 at Department of CSE. The cource was attended by the Faculty and the PG students. The program was addressed by Mr. Jose Martin, Asst Prof. RIT Kottayam. The session began at 10.20 am. It was aimed at providing a detailed knowledge on outcome based education.

Faculty Development Program

  • FDP on Open source tools for computing : 11-07-2016 to 15-07-2016
  •        A workshop was conducted from 11 August 2016 to 15 August 2016 on Open source tools for computing. It was addressed by Prof. Manoj Kumar – GEC Thrissur, Mr. Noufal Abraham Hamon – Technologies LLP Calicut, Mr. Vimal Joseph – Zyxware Technologies Kochi, Dr. Grace Mary Kanaka E- Karunnya University Coimbatore, Prof S Leela- Karunnya University Coimbatore, Dr. Anandkuttan IIM Kozhikode, Prof Preenu C S – University College Trivandrum.

 Visiting Faculty Scheme

  • Expert talk on Computer vision : 10-11-2016 to 11-11-2016
  •          Dept of CSE organized an expert talk on Computer vision on 10-11-2016 to 11-11-2016. Dr. C Saravanan handled the sessions. Mtech students of the department attended the program.


Parents – teachers’ meet 2009 will be held on 30/10/2009.  at department of computer science and enginering The parents of First year students of B.Tech will be attending this meet. Parent Teacher Meeting is an important time to meet with your ward’s teacher(s) in a one to one setting. Furthermore, it lets your ward know that you care about their progress and their college.
