A staff club is functioning to facilitate improvement of the cultural and academic activities among the teaching staff of the college. It serves as the plat form for the interaction between the different departments as well as with the former professors of the college and their family. Staff club is involved in co-coordinating activities of common interest among the teaching staff. It conducts Onam fest for the staff with â€œLatha memorial rolling trophy : Athapookalam competition among the departments. Christmas celebrations are also there with crib making and party. Apart from the celebrations it conducts innovative talks and short term training programmers for the staff. Every year there will be a sent off programme for the retiring faculty members.
National Service Scheme has emerged as a powerful and dynamic youth movement in this country. NSS is acting as a catalyst to build up the right type of leadership in an Institution. This college has implemented the National Service Scheme from 1970. The main aim of the scheme is to provide opportunities to the teachers and students to gain valuable practical experience through community service. At present two units are functioning in the college and the strength is 200. The students who get 240 hours experience including one special company programme will be eligible for NSS certificate and also will be eligible for obtaining grace marks.
The staff member in charge of the units are Sri. Mubarak A.K. and Manoj P.J. Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering.The student coordinators of these units are Jayesh S. and Emil George.
Industry-Institute Interaction Cell is functioning in this college as a forum for interaction between industries and the college, for mutual benefit. Industry can help the institution by sponsoring R & D activities and providing placement to deserving candidates. The testing and laboratory facilities in the college can be utilized by the industries for their day-to-day needs. Further, the innovative ideas of the students can be pooled for commercial application. It will also help the industries to keep abreast with the developments in the field of Science, Engineering and technology. A committee consisting of representatives from industry and the faculty monitors the activities of the Cell. It is maintaining close liason with the district Industries and financial institutions. Under Visiting Executive Programme, Seminars and invited lecture series were arranged departmentwise on thrust areas.

To disseminate the importance and significance of utilization of alternate energy sources, especially solar energy, an Energy Park has been set up in the institution with the assistance from Ministry of Non-conventional Energy Sources, Govt. of India. The Energy Park is being managed and maintained by the Mechanical Engineering Department. Prof. P. S. Sivaraman, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering is the staff-in-charge of the Energy Park. The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) is a national, professional, non-profit making Society registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. The major objective of the ISTE is to assist and contribute in the production and development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industries and other organisations. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, AICTE/DST/State Govts. are well associated with the ISTE for programmes relating to technical education. The College Chapter of ISTE organizes seminars, workshops, short term courses, invited lectures on the fields of engineering, technology and management. ISTE GECT Chapter bagged the Best Chapter Award (in Kerala section) in the National Convention held at Bannari Amman College of Engineering and Technology, Sathyamangalam for its overall leadership and quantum of activities.
A student chapter of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers USA is functioning in our college with a motto to create awareness on the budding engineers on the latest in technological innovations. The student chapter conducts a host of activities including Technical Quizzes, Design Contest, and Symposiums etc.
