Biennial International Conferences
Government Engineering College Trichur has been organizing its biennial International Conference on the title theme ‘Materials for the Future’ (ICMF) since the year 2009. ICMF provides a forum for bringing together the state-of- the art technology on aspects related to the research and development on materials like metals, ceramics, polymers, composites, hybrid materials, etc., their processing and applications in various fields. The conference will provide opportunities for presenting the latest advances in materials, processing, characterisation and applications to researchers from various R&D organisations, academic institutions and also practitioners from industries.
4th International Conference- ‘International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering, Science and Technology’ (ICETEST-2015)
The fourth International Conference in this series is being held from 9th to 11th December 2015, with the main conference theme having been revised to a broader and more comprehensive one, namely ‘Emerging Trends in Engineering, Science and Technology’ so as to cater to all disciplines of Engineering, Technology and supporting streams of Science. Accordingly, all the International Conferences henceforth organized in GECT would be titled ‘International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering, Science and Technology – ICETEST’, and would be materialized by the constituent international conferences organized by the major Engineering and Science Departments of the institution, on sub-themes of current interest and development in the respective disciplines. It is hoped that the broadened scope/regime of the revised title would enable the conference to bring together on to one platform the current advancements in all disciplines of studies under Engineering and Science, in which the host institution, GECT has established itself as a highly successful premier institution during the last over five decades. The ICETEST-2015 will have eight constituent conferences; one each held in the Departments of Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Production Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and School of Architecture, in the thrust areas of the respective disciplines. 3rd International Conference- ‘International Conference on Materials for the Future’ (ICMF-2013) 6th to 8th November 2013
International Conference on Materials for the Future (ICMF) is an endeavour of GOVERNMENT ENGINEERING COLLEGE THRISSUR, one of the reputed engineering colleges in Kerala, which intends to create an integrated community that will drive innovations in the field of materials and their processing technology. The present day technological advancement has enabled formulation of new engineering materials and even has redefined devices at just not Micro, but also at Nano and Pico Levels. Still, much more need to be researched to have innovations in materials that will be culminated into novel products for use in many engineering and scientific applications. Also, there is a growing trend around the world in engineering to address issues of sustainable technological development. Therefore, the theme, which is based on the above ideology, for the ICMF 2013 is Materials for the Future – Innovative Materials, Processes, Products and Applications”. The ICMF 2013, with the proposed theme, will assist to bring together a diverse community of engineers in a quest for technologically appropriate, environmentally sustainable, socially acceptable and economically viable solutions.
