FDP on Machine Learning
RENDEZVOUS’18
Rendezvous’18, the intercollegiate IT Fest conducted by MCA association of GEC Thrissur in February, 2018. The program was inaugurated by our college principal Dr. Jayanand B. Head of the Department of MCA, Dr. P Reena delivered the presidential address. Head of the Department of Computer Science, Prof. Manoj Kumar KV, and Prof. Mohandas from Mechanical Engineering felicitated the gathering. Staff Coordinators, Prof. Soumia Chandran, Prof. Sheron Vackachan, and student coordinator Mr. Majo Jose were also present on the dias.
A total of 198 students had registered their names for various events conducted. 9 events were conducted in various locations of the college campus. An event of coding, which was named ‘Cogent knack’, another marathon coding event, ‘Codeprix’, ‘Fomenter’, the Troll making competition, ‘Picturesque’, an event of spot photography, ‘Asylum’, the LAN gaming event, ‘Blitz’ Just-a-minute election, ‘Quizophile’, the battle of brains, ’Phalanx’, the Treasure hunt, Web Designing, named ‘Web destino’ were given to the participants.
After the successful completion of all the events, prize distribution was done by the faculty of MCA Department. Total cash prize of Rs. 51000/- was given away to the winners.
The program came to a conclusion with a Musical Band Show of ‘Bhansuri Music Club’ of GEC Thrissur.

REMINISENCE’18
Alumni meet of the MCA Department held in the college auditorium, on 17th of February 2018. The meet was inaugurated by Prof. Rajappan Pillai, retired professor from the Department of MCA, GEC Thrissur. Prof. Krishnakumar T, Vice president of alumni association, GEC, and Dr.Mohanan, Secretary of alumni association, GEC Thrissur, also chaired the meet.
Former students and teachers of the Department participated in the program, and shared their experiences of their times spent in GEC. Various entertainment programs were arranged for the alumni, which included both cultural programs and games.
