Candidates shall be Indian Nationals, either natives of Kerala State or employed in Kerala State. Candidates shall possess the following qualifications:
a) A pass in the Diploma Examination in Engineering after under going regular institutional course of 3 years.
b) Candidates should be in employment in the Engineering profession in
Candidates will be admitted only to the branch of Engineering in which they have obtained the Diploma. However a pass in Diploma Examination in Instrument Technology shall be considered as an eligible qualification for Electrical & Electronics Engineering at the Engineering Colleges in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam. Diploma in Automobile Engineering of recognised University/Board/Institution is also considered as eligible qualification for Mechanical Engineering.
1. Selection will be made collegewise.
2. Selection of candidates will be made on the basis of the index marks calculated as per subclause except in the case of admission under management quota in private(aided) Engineering Colleges. 15% seats relating to management quota in private(aided) Engineering College will be filled up by the management in accordance with the direction contained in Honourable Supreme Court Judgement relating to the issue. Communal reservation ordered in G.O. (P) No. 208/66/Edn. Dated 02/05/1966 will be followed as ordered in G.O. (Ms) No. 245/72/Edn. Dated 25/10/1972.
3. Index mark will be the sum of the following:
a) Percentage of marks obtained in Final Year Diploma Examination
b) 4 marks per year of qualifying experience subject to the condition that no marks will be given for experience below 3 months and maximum marks awarded will be limited to 40.
a) Pass in B. Tech. Degree Examination or equivalent examination recognized by the University of Calicut in the respective branch of study.
b) Admission is normally through GATE and such candidates are eligible for the award of the Government of India Scholarship of Rs. 8,000/- per month.
Candidate for admission to the MCA course shall be required to have one of the following qualifications.
a) BCA, B Sc in Computer Science / IT / Electronics.
b) B Tech with 50% aggregate – all semesters put together.
c) B. Sc / B Com or Equivalent with Mathematics or Statistics (This does not include Business Mathematics / Statistics ) as one of the optional subjects, 50% marks in aggregate and 60% marks in optional. 5% relaxation in marks for SEBC candidates and pass minimum for SC/ST students as per government rules.
a) 15% of seats will be reserved for Scheduled Cast and 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe candidates.
b) One-third of the remaining seats will be reserved for candidates from outside Kerala and two-third for candidates from Kerala.
c) The seats unavailed by Scheduled Cast candidates will go to Scheduled Tribe candidates and vice versa.
d) If any seat in reservation quota is left unavailed of by candidate of the particular category, it will go to the open merit pool of Kerala State.
